This authentic Baluch rug originates from the Persia region, renowned for its ancient weaving tradition. The Baluch, a nomadic people, create textile works that reflect their life and beliefs, characterized by unique simplicity and expressive power.
The piece features a vibrant central field of deep red, enriched with geometric medallions and stylized motifs in shades of dark brown, black, and beige. The color combination, often achieved with natural dyes, may present slight chromatic variations, known as "abrash," testifying to the authenticity and craftsmanship of the artifact.
The borders are elaborately designed with repeated patterns, framing the central field and adding depth to the complex motif. The design is typically geometric, with a strong emphasis on abstract and symbolic motifs.
Made with hand-carded wool for the pile and cotton for the warp, this rug boasts a density of approximately 160,000-200,000 knots per square meter, ensuring robustness and durability. With a thickness of 0.6 cm, it is a resilient and versatile runner, perfect for enriching any environment with a touch of Persian history and culture.
