This authentic Baluch rug, originating from Persia, is a magnificent example of nomadic craftsmanship. Made with hand-carded wool on a robust cotton warp, it features a high knot density, estimated between 160,000 and 200,000 knots/sqm, and a thickness of approximately 0.6 cm. The quality of the wool and the skilled knotting provide this piece with remarkable durability and a pleasant softness to the touch.
The design is characteristic of the Baluch style, featuring an elaborate central medallion, surrounded by a cream-colored inner field that hosts geometric and stylized motifs, including elegant birds and deer. The main outer field, in a deep dark red, is also densely decorated with all-over tribal patterns. The multiple borders display repeated geometric designs, creating a harmonious and detail-rich visual effect. The presence of abrash (variations in tone within the same color) is a testament to the use of natural dyes and the authentic charm of a hand-knotted piece.
The predominant colors are dark red, creamy beige, and navy blue, enriched with touches of orange and turquoise. This Baluch rug is a unique piece that will add a touch of history and culture to any room, perfect for enhancing a living room, study, or bedroom with its timeless beauty.
