This magnificent Tabriz rug, originating from Persia, is a splendid example of traditional textile craftsmanship. Made with high-quality hand-carded wool and a cotton warp, it boasts a high knot density, ranging from 160,000 to 200,000 knots/sqm, ensuring remarkable durability and richness of detail. The pile thickness, approximately 1 cm, provides a soft yet robust feel.
The classic design is dominated by a large, elaborate central medallion with pendents, surrounded by a densely decorated field featuring an all-over design of curvilinear floral motifs, including palmettes, rosettes, and stylized saz leaves. The corners of the field are enhanced by quarter medallions, harmoniously completing the composition.
The color palette is vibrant and refined: a deep red forms the background of the main field, elegantly contrasting with a dark blue in the medallion and borders. Shades of cream brighten the spandrels and other details, enriched with accents of light blue, green, and antique pink, which collectively create a sumptuous and inviting atmosphere.
Multiple, finely elaborated borders frame the rug with complementary patterns that echo the floral theme of the field, showcasing the skill of Persian weavers. Each knot tells a story of tradition and timeless beauty, making this Tabriz a valuable addition to any setting.
