This magnificent original Kilim from Afghanistan is a textile work of art that embodies centuries of artisan tradition. Crafted with hand-carded wool for the pile and a cotton warp, it offers a robust yet soft-to-the-touch weave. Its density of approximately 160,000-200,000 knots/sqm and a thickness of 0.3 cm attest to its quality and careful craftsmanship.
The design is an ode to geometry and vibrant colors. The central field is dominated by a series of large, concentric diamonds, arranged in a repetitive manner, creating a dynamic and captivating visual impact. Each diamond is woven with different shades, highlighting the abrash technique that gives the rug a unique and vibrant character.
