This magnificent Kashan rug, originating from Persia, is a masterpiece of traditional craftsmanship that embodies the cultural richness and centuries-old skill of Persian weavers. Crafted from hand-carded wool on a cotton warp, it boasts a density of approximately 160,000-200,000 knots per square meter and a thickness of 1.2 cm, attesting to its fineness and durability.
The heart of the design is a splendid central medallion, beautifully elaborated in shades of light blue and beige, set against a cream or ivory white field. Around the medallion, the field is enlivened by an intricate floral pattern composed of stylized palmettes, sinuous vines, and small blossoms in various shades of blue, gold, and touches of terracotta red. This motif extends harmoniously to the borders, creating an effect of continuity and great visual richness.
The main border, in a warm beige tone, is adorned with a succession of cartouches and blossoms, framed by delicate secondary borders that enhance its complexity. The color palette, dominated by white, blue, and beige with golden and red accents, lends the rug a refined yet distinctive elegance, capable of adapting to both classic and more contemporary settings, adding a touch of sophistication and history.
Every fiber of this Kashan tells a story of tradition and passion, a textile artwork that carries the echo of ancient knowledge and the timeless beauty of Persian art.
