This magnificent Gorawan rug, originating from the Persian region of Hamadan, is an authentic expression of traditional knotting art. Characterized by a robust structure of hand-carded wool with a cotton warp, it offers a density of 160,000-200,000 knots/sqm and a thickness of approximately 1 cm, guaranteeing quality and durability.
The design is dominated by a large geometric central medallion that captures the eye with its complexity and sharp angular lines. Within it, a deep blue heart stands out, surrounded by elaborate star figures and stylized motifs. The vibrant and warm terracotta red field displays the color irregularity known as "abrash," which adds character and authenticity, typical of hand-knotted rugs made with natural dyes.
On either side of the medallion, the field extends into a bright cream color, dotted with geometric shapes and small stylized florets that create a harmonious contrast. The robust main border, in dark tones, encloses repeated geometric motifs, balancing the vibrancy of the central field.
This Gorawan rug is not just a furnishing accessory but a work of art that carries centuries of tradition and artisanal mastery, ideal for adding a touch of history and color to any environment.
