This magnificent Yalameh rug is an authentic expression of ancient Persian knotting art, originating from the region of Persia. Characterized by a vibrant composition and a distinctive design, it is a piece that captures the eye and enriches any interior.
Its weave is made from hand-carded wool, renowned for its softness and durability, while the warp is cotton, ensuring stability and longevity. The knot density, ranging between 160,000 and 200,000 knots/sqm, attests to the care and skill of the artisans. The thickness of 1.2 cm gives the rug remarkable robustness and tactile presence.
The main motif is a captivating geometric square design. Eight large medallions, each with its own dominant color field – from blue to red, beige to orange – are arranged in an orderly grid, creating a mosaic effect. Each square features a central medallion rich in tribal symbols and "comb" or "serrated" borders, framed by stylized floral motifs and small stars. Between the squares, the field is dotted with myriad smaller star and geometric motifs, creating a vibrant contrast.
The color palette is rich and varied: shades of red, blue, beige, and black predominate, enhanced by accents of orange, brown, and turquoise. The use of natural dyes, often subject to the phenomenon of abrash, adds depth and character, making each Yalameh a unique piece with ever-changing nuances.
This rectangular rug is ideal for those seeking a furnishing element that combines history, culture, and a strong visual impact. Perfect for a living room, study, or entryway, it will bring a touch of warmth and an exotic atmosphere into your home.
