This magnificent Ghom rug, originating from Persia, is a superb example of Persian knotting art. Crafted entirely from pure silk, both for the pile and the warp, it exhibits an unmistakable luminosity and softness to the touch.
The central field features an all-over design depicting a vibrant and detailed hunting scene. Horsemen on galloping steeds, armed with bows and arrows, pursue a variety of wild animals such as deer, rabbits, goats, and birds, set amidst a lush floral landscape with stylized trees and plants. The navy blue background of the field beautifully highlights the vivid colors of the characters and fauna.
The border consists of multiple bands, notably a red stripe adorned with vegetal motifs and animal figures, framed by thin golden and dark blue lines that echo the field's tones.
With an exceptional density of 800,000-900,000 knots/sqm and a thickness of only 0.3 cm, this Ghom silk rug is a masterpiece of high craftsmanship, destined to enrich any environment with its history, luxury, and incredible beauty.
