This beautiful Afghan Kilim is a textile work of art that carries the charm and history of a millennia-old tradition. Characterized by a warm color palette dominated by terracotta orange and beige, enriched with delicate touches of lilac and cream, it creates a welcoming and vibrant atmosphere in any setting. Its pattern is a triumph of geometric motifs, with central diamonds and zig-zag bands that follow one another in an all-over design, revealing the artisanal mastery of Afghan weavers.
Made with hand-carded wool for the weave and cotton warp, this Kilim features a pleasant texture and remarkable resistance. The flat weaving technique gives the rug lightness and versatility, making it ideal for various uses. Slight color variations, a fascinating effect known as "abrash", can be noticed, testifying to the use of natural dyes and the authentic nature of the piece.
Originating from Afghanistan, this Kilim is not just a furnishing element, but a piece of history and culture, capable of infusing character and a refined ethnic touch into modern or classic spaces. Although Kilims are woven and not knotted, the technical specifications indicate a density of 160.000-200.000 knots/sqm and a thickness of 0.3 cm, attesting to its fine craftsmanship and durability.
