This magnificent Kilim, originating from Afghanistan, is an authentic expression of traditional textile art. Crafted with hand-carded wool (cotton warp), it features a robust flatweave and a surface with timeless appeal. Its peculiarity lies in the weaving technique, which gives the rug unique lightness and versatility.
The all-over design is dominated by repeating geometric motifs, primarily diamonds and lozenges, which intersect to create a dynamic and harmonious visual effect. The color palette is rich and varied, with hues ranging from terracotta red to sky blue, from cream beige to burnt orange, enriched with accents of olive green and grey. The skillful use of color and the potential presence of abrash (natural variations in shade) enhance its uniqueness and artisanal character.
With a density of approximately 160,000-200,000 knots/sqm and a thickness of 0.3 cm, this Kilim is not merely a decorative element but a true piece of history and culture, ideal for adding an ethnic and sophisticated touch to any modern or classic setting.
