Immerse yourself in the authenticity and ancient charm of the Rubin rug, a magnificent specimen originating from Pakistan. This rug, the result of skilled craftsmanship, is made from hand-carded wool with a cotton warp, ensuring not only a soft and pleasant texture to the touch but also remarkable resistance and durability. Its knot density, ranging between 160,000 and 200,000 knots/sqm, attests to the high quality of the weaving, while its thickness of 0.9 cm provides excellent substance.
The design of the Rubin is a true visual narrative. The central field features an all-over design populated by a myriad of stylized animal motifs and geometric figures, arranged in a harmonious yet dynamic manner. These elements, with their evocative and almost fairytale-like forms, are an expression of nomadic and tribal art, rich in symbolism and connections to nature and the daily life of the communities that created them. The colors used for these details are vibrant and well-balanced: ultramarine blue, coral red, ocher yellow, aqua green, and burnt orange emerge against a predominant earthy background, creating a captivating contrast. The presence of abrash (slight natural color variations in the dyed wool) adds depth and character, making each piece unique and unrepeatable.
The wide and well-defined main border repeats and expands upon the motifs of the central field, with a succession of framed sections enclosing further stylized zoomorphic figures, while thinner secondary borders delicately define the rug's edges. The multicolored and lively fringes complete the work, adding a touch of playfulness and artisanal charm. The Rubin rug is not just a furnishing element but a piece of history and culture, capable of bringing warmth and an authentic atmosphere to any setting, from classic to modern, rustic to minimalist.
