This magnificent Ardakan rug, originating from Persia, is an authentic hand-knotted work of art that captures the essence of traditional Persian design. Crafted with high-quality hand-carded wool on a cotton warp, it boasts a knot density ranging from 160,000 to 200,000 knots/sqm, ensuring remarkable durability and longevity, with a thickness of approximately 1 cm.
The central design is dominated by an impressive medallion, beautifully delineated, standing out against a vibrant red field. The medallion is enriched with intricate floral and arabesque decorations, predominantly in shades of dark blue, light blue, cream, and beige. The main field is densely populated with a diffuse floral design, composed of stylized palmettes, rosettes, vine scrolls, and other vegetal motifs, creating a luxurious and rich atmosphere.
The elaborate border also features multiple bands that echo the motifs and colors of the central field, with a predominance of dark blue and meticulous floral details. The color variations, typical of hand-knotted rugs, contribute to giving this Persian example a unique character and fascinating chromatic depth.
An Ardakan rug like this is an investment in beauty and tradition, capable of enriching any environment with its history and timeless charm.
