This Ardakan rug, originating from the renowned textile tradition of Persia, embodies the essence of Persian art. Crafted with hand-carded wool on a cotton warp, it features a high density of 160,000-200,000 knots/sqm and a thickness of 1 cm, testifying to excellent artisan craftsmanship.
The design is dominated by a magnificent central medallion on an intense red field, surrounded by elaborate floral motifs that extend harmoniously throughout the rug. Four richly decorated corner pieces echo and complete the medallion's design, creating a perfect visual balance. The motifs include palmettes, rosettes, and sinuous arabesques, predominantly in shades of dark blue, light blue, cream, and golden details. The main border, in a deep navy blue, is also adorned with a succession of elegant floral patterns and tendrils, finely framing the central field.
