Persian Ardakan Rug: Floral Elegance and Vibrant Colors
This magnificent Ardakan rug, hailing from the renowned artisanal tradition of Persia, embodies the elegance and richness of classic Persian design. Crafted from hand-carded wool on a cotton warp, it boasts a density of approximately 160,000-200,000 knots per square meter and a thickness of 1 cm, ensuring both softness and durability.
The rug's heart is dominated by a large, dark blue central medallion, finely decorated with floral details, which stands out vividly against the main field of a deep carmine red. Four pendants and the corner spandrels echo the medallion's color, creating a harmonious visual balance. The field is densely populated by an all-over floral design, with arabesques, palmettes, and intertwining vines gracefully woven, enriched by touches of light blue, cream, and ochre, which may show slight variations in tone, a phenomenon known as abrash.
The main border, in an intense navy blue, is also embellished with a succession of palmettes and stylized floral motifs, flanked by narrower secondary borders that define and enhance the entire composition. A work of art that brings warmth and sophistication to any setting.
