This authentic Kilim originates from Afghanistan, a country with a rich tradition in weaving. It is a textile work of art created using the Kilim technique, which produces a pile-less, flatweave rug.
The design features an all-over pattern with a harmonious sequence of large central diamonds, surrounded by smaller, stylized geometric motifs. The color palette is vibrant and earthy, dominated by warm shades of orange and terracotta, which serve as a backdrop for complex designs in sky blue, mint green, cream beige, and subtle purple hues. Color variations, known as abrash, attest to the use of natural dyes and artisanal skill, giving each piece a unique character and a profound sense of authenticity.
Entirely made of hand-carded wool, with a cotton warp, this Kilim offers a robust and durable surface, ideal for adding an ethnic and sophisticated touch to any setting. Its weave density, estimated between 160,000 and 200,000 knots/sqm, indicates great attention to detail and remarkable resistance. The thickness of only 0.3 cm makes it versatile and practical.
