This Shiraz rug, originating from ancient Persia, is a textile work of art that embodies centuries of nomadic tradition. Crafted with hand-carded wool on a cotton warp, it boasts a density of approximately 160,000-200,000 knots per square meter and a thickness of about 1 centimeter, ensuring durability and a pleasant feel underfoot.
The central field is dominated by a vibrant ruby red, enlivened by a fascinating abrash effect that attests to the natural dyeing and authenticity of the production process. At the center, a series of geometric lozenge medallions stands out, rendered in black and detailed with shades of red and ochre, creating a strong visual contrast. Around the medallions and in the corners, the all-over design is enriched with numerous stylized tribal motifs, including small animals, stars, and protective symbols, predominantly woven in black and dark tones that harmoniously integrate with the red background.
The well-defined border features a stylized floral and geometric pattern on a white/cream ground, framed by thin inner and outer bands that echo the rug's main colors. This Shiraz is ideal for adding a touch of warmth and history to any room, from the hall to the living room, becoming a focal point of great visual and cultural impact.
