This splendid Kilim, originating from Afghanistan, is a magnificent example of traditional textile art.
Crafted from hand-carded wool on a cotton warp, it features a flatweave construction with a thickness of only 0.3 cm, making it light and versatile. Its distinctive characteristic is the abrash, the subtle variations in hue that attest to the artisanal nature of the dyeing process and give the rug a unique and authentic charm.
Its geometric pattern is dominated by a sequence of large hexagons arranged in vertical columns. Each hexagon is filled with smaller motifs, such as diamonds or dots, and alternates in a vibrant color palette that includes turquoise, yellow, beige, and grey, all set against a warm orange background. The borders are enriched with zigzag patterns and fringes, completing the ethnic and inviting aesthetic of this artifact.
Ideal for adding a touch of color and a warm, inviting atmosphere to any room.
