This splendid Kazak rug originates from Afghanistan, an area renowned for its ancient weaving tradition. It is a textile work of art that combines artisanal robustness with a vibrant aesthetic rich in tribal symbolism.
Crafted with hand-carded wool, the pile offers a pleasant texture and remarkable durability, while the cotton warp ensures its stability. The knot density, ranging from 100,000 to 150,000 knots per square meter, testifies to the care and skill of the master weavers.
The design features a sage green central field, embellished with a large main medallion and a series of smaller medallions and stylized floral rosettes. The geometric and floral motifs are rendered with a rich and harmonious palette: deep red, forest green, profound blue, orange, and cream tones merge, creating a striking visual effect. The borders, in particular, with their star and diamond pattern on a cream background, elegantly frame the rug. The slight color variations, known as abrash, add a touch of authenticity and charm, highlighting the handcrafted nature of the rug.
With its thickness of 1.1 cm, this Kazak is not just a decorative element but a true piece of history and culture, capable of infusing warmth and character into any environment, from the living room to the dining room, or as a fascinating runner for a spacious hallway.
