The Ardabil rug, originating from Persia, is a textile work of art that embodies centuries of tradition and craftsmanship. Its making is a tribute to beauty and durability, crafted from hand-carded wool on a cotton warp, which gives the pile exceptional softness and resilience.
The design is distinguished by an elaborate central medallion, surrounded by an all-over design of geometric floral motifs, which extends harmoniously across a beige/gold background. The main border, in an intense red, is enriched with delicate stylized designs, typical of Persian tradition. Each knot, a result of an ancient knotting technique, contributes to creating a work of great value and character, with a density ranging between 160,000 and 200,000 knots/sqm and a thickness of approximately 1 cm.
Its colorations, ranging from vivid red to warm beige, with blue inserts and touches of other colors, are enhanced by slight natural chromatic variations, known as "abrash," which attest to the authenticity of the pigments and the artisanal craftsmanship.
Perfect for enriching classic environments or adding a touch of exotic elegance to more modern spaces, the Ardabil is more than just a rug: it is a piece of history, an investment in time and beauty.
