This magnificent Tabriz rug is an authentic expression of Persian knotting art, originating from the renowned region of Persia. Its mastery is evident in the richness of detail and the quality of materials.
Crafted with hand-carded wool for the pile and a cotton warp, it boasts a high knot density, ranging from 160,000 to 200,000 knots per square meter, giving the artifact remarkable robustness and a pleasant feel. The pile has a thickness of approximately 1 cm.
The design is a classic example of the Tabriz style: an elegant central star-shaped medallion, characterized by rich floral elements, stands out against a deep blue field. The medallion, corner spandrels, and various details are embellished with cream and beige tones, creating a harmonious contrast. The rest of the field is densely decorated with an all-over design of vegetal scrolls, leaves, and palmettes, filling every space with grace and precision. The border, in intense red, echoes stylized floral motifs, framing the piece with elegance. Predominant colors include deep blue, brick red, cream, and delicate shades of green, light blue, and antique pink.
Every element of the design has been meticulously knotted, testifying to the skill of Tabriz artisans. This rug is not just a furnishing element but a work of art that carries with it the history and tradition of Persia.
