This magnificent Ardabil rug, originating from ancient Persia, embodies the elegance and richness of Persian textile tradition. Crafted from high-quality hand-carded wool, it features a sturdy cotton warp that ensures its durability. The knot density, ranging between 160,000 and 200,000 knots per square meter, attests to the extreme care and skill of the artisans.
The design is dominated by a large central medallion of complex shape, rich in stylized floral motifs in shades of midnight blue and beige, standing out against a brilliant red main field. Four symmetrical corner spandrels echo the medallion's motifs and colors, creating impeccable visual harmony. The entire field is further embellished by an all-over design of small rosettes and geometric patterns, adding depth and detail.
The main border, in a deep blue, is adorned with a sequence of cartouches and repeated floral motifs, flanked by thinner secondary borders in turquoise and red, precisely defining the rug's contours. The slight color variations, known as abrash, are natural in wool dyed with vegetable pigments and lend the rug an authentic and vibrant character. With a thickness of 1 cm, this Ardabil is not just a piece of furniture, but a true investment in Persian art and culture, capable of enriching any environment with its timeless history and beauty.
