Immerse yourself in the charm of this Mamlouk rug, a textile work of art originating from Pakistan. Crafted with hand-carded wool, with a cotton warp, this rug is the result of an ancient artisanal tradition evident in every single knot. Its density of 250,000-300,000 knots/sqm and a thickness of 0.6 cm attest to the care and mastery in its creation, giving it unmistakable robustness and softness.
The Mamlouk stands out for its all-over pattern that elegantly frames two magnificent central octagonal medallions. These medallions feature a luminous ocher yellow/gold, bordered by a vibrant turquoise edge that creates a breathtaking visual contrast. The main field and the border present a rich repertoire of stylized floral motifs and minute geometric designs, distributed with balance on a dominant orange-terracotta background. The "abrash" effect, visible in the slight variations in hue, adds depth and character, revealing the artisanal nature of the wool dyeing.
This rectangular rug is more than just a piece of furniture: it is a piece of history and culture, capable of transforming any environment with its warm and sophisticated presence.
