This splendid Kilim, originating from Afghanistan, is a magnificent example of ancient nomadic textile art. Made entirely of hand-carded wool, with a cotton warp, it stands out for its robustness and unique texture. The flatweave technique, typical of Kilims, gives the rug a light and reversible appearance, perfect for any environment.
The vibrant and skillfully combined colors create an all-over geometric design, characterized by central diamond motifs and lateral bands that evoke ancestral symbols. The presence of slight tonal variations, known as abrash, attests to the artisanal process of hand-dyed wool, giving each piece an inimitable character and fascinating chromatic depth.
With a density of approximately 160,000-200,000 knots/sqm and a thickness of 0.3 cm, this Kilim is not just a furnishing element, but a piece of history and culture, capable of transforming any space with its energy and authenticity.
