This magnificent runner, originating from Pakistan, bears the name of the legendary city of Samarkand, evoking images of ancient markets and caravan routes. Crafted with artisanal mastery, it is woven with hand-carded wool, ensuring unique softness and exceptional durability, while the cotton warp provides stability to its structure.
The design stands out for its vibrancy and depth. It features alternating horizontal bands in various shades with sections characterized by a rich and intricate geometric pattern. The tribal motifs, with diamonds and stylized elements, tell ancient stories and add a touch of authenticity. The color palette is dominated by intense shades of terracotta and rust red, interspersed with accents of sky blue, deep blue, mustard gold, and beige, creating a harmonious and warm visual effect. The abrash, a slight variation in tone within the same color, is a testament to the use of natural dyes and the uniqueness of each piece.
With a density of 160,000-200,000 knots per square meter and a thickness of approximately 0.8 cm, this Samarkand runner offers a pleasant texture and remarkable durability. Ideal for enriching hallways, entrances, or narrow spaces, it adds warmth, character, and a refined ethnic touch to any modern or traditional setting.
