This splendid runner, hailing from Pakistan and named Samarkand, is a magnificent example of traditional textile art. Crafted with hand-carded wool, featuring a cotton warp, it offers a density of approximately 160,000-200,000 knots/sqm and a thickness of 0.8 cm, ensuring robustness and a pleasant feel.
Its design is a harmonious fusion of elements: the initial and final sections showcase an all-over design of intricate and symbolic geometric motifs, typical of tribal traditions. The central part is dominated by vibrant horizontal stripes of varying widths, creating a dynamic chromatic play. Subtle variations in tone within the stripes can be observed, a fascinating effect known as "abrash," which testifies to its authenticity and artisanal craftsmanship.
The color palette is rich and varied: earthy tones like brown, ochre, and beige blend with lively accents of blue, turquoise, terracotta, and touches of dark green, evoking a warm and inviting atmosphere. This runner is perfect for enriching hallways, entrances, or any space that requires a touch of color and history.
