This fascinating Persian rug is an exemplary piece of great character, typical of the tribal knotting art from Southern Persia, likely attributed to the Qashqai people or the master weavers of Shiraz.
The design is distinguished by its central diamond-shaped medallion, rich in geometric details and stylized floral and animal motifs, which immediately draws the eye. The field, in a delicate peach-orange color, is skillfully decorated with an all-over design of stylized motifs, including small zoomorphic figures, such as birds and grazing animals, moving amidst vegetal and geometric elements.
The color palette is warm and natural, with shades of orange, terracotta red, dark blue, olive green, and cream, creating a balanced visual harmony. The abrash, slight variations in color due to hand-dyed wool batches, adds depth and authenticity to the piece, testifying to its artisanal origin.
Multiple borders frame the rug, with the main border featuring repeated hook motifs and geometric shapes, typical of tribal tradition.
This rug is not just a decorative item, but a piece of history and culture, capable of bringing warmth and a touch of exoticism to any setting, from classic to contemporary.
