This magnificent Persian Kashamr Zirkhaki rug, originating from Persia, is a textile work of art that embodies the rich tradition of Oriental craftsmanship. Its field is dominated by an elaborate all-over pattern of boteh (or paisley) motifs, a symbol of fertility and life. The field's hues range from a deep black to a dark brown, creating a sumptuous backdrop for the vibrant boteh designs that burst forth in shades of red, ochre, beige, light blue, and green.
The main border, in an intense terracotta color, is finely decorated with stylized floral motifs and small palmettes, echoing the colors of the inner field and creating a harmonious frame. The use of hand-carded wool, with a cotton warp, gives the rug unmistakable robustness and softness. The knot density, ranging between 160,000 and 200,000 knots/sqm, attests to the exceptional mastery and attention to detail characterizing this piece. With a thickness of 1 cm, it offers a feeling of luxury and comfort underfoot. An ideal piece to enrich classic settings or to add a touch of exoticism to modern spaces.
