The Nomadic Soul of a Persian Shiraz
This authentic Shiraz rug, originating from Persia, is a vivid expression of the knotting art of nomadic tribes. Crafted with hand-carded wool on a cotton warp, each knot encapsulates centuries of tradition and artisanal mastery. A density of 160,000-200,000 knots/sqm and a thickness of 1 attest to its robustness and the quality of its materials.
The main field, dominated by a vibrant red, is enriched by a large central diamond medallion in dark blue, framed by intricate geometric details. On either side of the medallion, stylized white “trees of life” stand out, symbolizing abundance and longevity, while the rest of the field is scattered with small tribal motifs, including birds and octagonal stars.
The intense and deep colors display slight variations in tone (abrash), highlighting the use of natural dyes and the uniqueness of each piece. The complex border, with its multiple decorative bands, perfectly frames the overall design, giving the rug a visual balance and a timeless aesthetic strength.
