This splendid Moud rug, originating from Persia, is a masterpiece of artisanal craftsmanship. Entirely hand-knotted, it represents the excellence of Persian rug-making tradition, carrying centuries of history and culture. Its robust structure and meticulous workmanship make it a durable and highly valuable furnishing item.
The rug stands out for its grid design (or medallion-like squares) that fills the central field, each containing a different motif: from floral stylizations to figurative elements like vases and “boteh” (paisley) motifs. This arrangement creates a dynamic and fascinating visual harmony. The color palette, dominated by a luminous cream background, is enlivened by accents of ruby red, sky blue, forest green, and ocher tones, all framed by a rich and complex border that echoes floral motifs and tendrils. The use of hand-carded wool can result in slight variations in tone, known as "abrash," which add depth and character to the rug.
Made with the highest quality hand-carded wool for the pile, on a cotton warp, this Moud ensures exceptional softness and resilience. The knot density, ranging between 160,000 and 200,000 knots per square meter, testifies to the extreme fineness of the knotting and the richness of detail. The thickness of 1.4 cm contributes to a feeling of luxury and comfort underfoot, as well as providing the rug with remarkable durability. It is an ideal piece for living rooms, studies, or bedrooms, capable of elevating any environment with its refined presence.
