This magnificent Baluch rug, originating from Persia, is a testament to the masterful craftsmanship and rich tradition of nomadic peoples. Woven with hand-carded wool on a cotton warp, it boasts a dense weave ranging between 160,000 and 200,000 knots per square meter, ensuring robustness and longevity.
The design is a classic example of the Baluch style, characterized by geometric and highly stylized motifs. The luminous cream central field is enlivened by a series of diamond-shaped medallions running along the vertical axis, surrounded by stylized figures reminiscent of birds and ancient tribal symbols. The use of intense colors such as ruby red and jet black creates a vibrant and captivating contrast.
The entire composition is framed by a series of concentric borders, where red and black predominate, featuring meander patterns and stylized cross motifs that add depth and rhythm. The presence of subtle color variations, known as abrash, is an authentic characteristic of hand-knotted rugs, enhancing their uniqueness and character. With a thickness of approximately 0.6 cm, this rug is ideal for adding a touch of history and warmth to any room.
