This splendid Baluch rug originates from the historical region of Persia, a territory renowned for its centuries-old weaving tradition. The Baluch are a nomadic people with a rich cultural heritage, vividly reflected in their textile creations.
Hand-knotted with hand-carded wool on a cotton warp, this rug stands out for its robustness and pleasant tactile texture. The knot density, ranging between 160,000 and 200,000 knots/sqm, attests to the meticulous craftsmanship. Its thickness of 0.6 cm makes it a solid and durable item.
The design features a beige-cream background that highlights a rich central medallion and stylized geometric motifs in an all-over design. The color palette is dominated by a deep garnet red, elegant brown, and touches of dark blue and black, creating a vibrant and traditional contrast. The abrash effect, visible in the variations of color shades, is an authentic characteristic that adds depth and character to the rug, highlighting the use of natural dyes and the weaver's skill.
The borders feature garland and rhombus patterns, typical of Baluch aesthetics, framing the central field with harmony. This rug is not just a piece of furniture, but a piece of nomadic history, capable of instilling warmth and an authentic atmosphere in any room, from the living room to the hallway, even as a runner.
