This authentic Baluch rug, originating from Persia, is an extraordinary expression of tribal craftsmanship. Hand-knotted with hand-carded wool on a cotton warp, it boasts a high density of 160,000-200,000 knots per square meter, ensuring robustness and durability. With a thickness of just 0.6 cm, it is both elegant and resilient.
The design features a traditional prayer field, or mihrab, framing a majestic stylized tree of life, a symbol of fertility and immortality. Flanking the tree are bird figures, recurring elements in Baluch iconography, which add a narrative touch. The entire composition is enriched with intricate geometric and tribal motifs, characteristic of this nomadic ethnicity.
The color palette is rich and deep, dominated by shades of cream, dark red, and brown, with accents of blue, green, and orange. These colors are derived from natural dyes, lending a unique chromatic harmony and a subtle variation in color, known as "abrash," which enhances its authenticity and handmade character. A rug that not only decorates but also tells an ancient story.
