This fascinating rug, an authentic Baluch originating from Persia, is a tribute to the ancient art of nomadic weaving. Crafted with high-quality hand-carded wool and a cotton warp, it possesses inherent robustness and softness.
The central field features an all-over pattern of diamonds and lozenges arranged diagonally, each enriched with a small cruciform or star-like motif within. The rich color palette is dominated by dark red with subtle variations (abrash) testifying to natural dyeing, complemented by elegant accents in black or dark brown and bright cream details.
The cream-colored inner border is decorated with a sequence of small dark crosses, while the wider, dark main border showcases stylized geometric "S" or hooked motifs. A red outer border completes the piece with repeated geometric floral motifs. The knot density ranges between 160,000 and 200,000 knots per square meter, with a thickness of approximately 0.6 cm, ensuring both durability and a pleasant tactile and visual impact.
A Baluch like this is not just a rug, but a piece of history and culture, ideal for enriching any environment with its authenticity and tribal style.
