This magnificent Shiraz rug is an authentic expression of Persian nomadic art, hailing directly from the Fars region in Persia. Hand-knotted with mastery, it tells a story of tradition and culture through its vibrant designs and precious materials.
Made with hand-carded wool, this rug offers a robust texture and unparalleled softness. The cotton warp ensures stability and durability over time. Its knotting density, ranging between 160,000 and 200,000 knots per square meter, testifies to the high quality of craftsmanship, while its 1 cm thickness provides comfortable underfoot feel and natural sound insulation. The presence of abrash (slight color variations) in the red field and dark blue central medallion is a distinctive characteristic of tribal rugs, resulting from the use of natural dyes and different wool batches, which imparts a unique and unrepeatable charm.
The design is dominated by an imposing central geometric medallion, in shades of dark blue and cream white, which stands out against the main field of a deep red color. This field is enriched with a myriad of small stylized motifs and tribal symbols that recall the flora, fauna, and everyday objects of nomadic populations. The corners of the field feature large geometric motifs complementary to the medallion.
The multiple, richly decorated borders frame the rug with sequences of stylized motifs in cream, blue, orange, and brown, helping to define its structure and highlight the main design. The skillful use of red, dark blue, and cream, with accents of orange and brown, creates a visual harmony that lends warmth and depth to any setting.
Perfect for adding a touch of authenticity and warmth to living rooms, studies, or bedrooms, this Shiraz rug is not just a piece of furniture, but a piece of history and craftsmanship that will enrich your home for generations.
