This authentic Shiraz rug originates from the Fars, Qashqai, and Khamseh nomadic and semi-nomadic tribes residing in the mountainous region of the Fars province in Southern Persia. Shiraz rugs are unique works of art, skillfully hand-knotted from hand-spun wool, often with a cotton warp, which gives them inherent robustness and a rich texture.
The design is distinguished by its traditional tribal motifs, often depicting stylized animals, geometric floral patterns, and ancestral symbols that tell stories of daily life and cultural beliefs. The combination of a deep red field with three central hexagonal medallions, densely decorated with minute motifs, creates a fascinating visual contrast. The "abrash" effect, referring to slight color variations due to different batches of wool dyed with natural pigments, adds depth and character, highlighting the rug's authenticity and artisanal craftsmanship. The main cream-colored border with stylized "S" motifs elegantly frames the rug, balancing the vibrancy of the central field.
Each Shiraz is a genuine expression of nomadic art, with knot counts ranging between 160,000 and 200,000 knots per square meter, attesting to the density and attention to detail. Its thickness of approximately 1 cm makes it soft and durable, ideal for creating a warm and inviting atmosphere in any room.
