This magnificent Nadjafabad rug is an authentic textile work of art, originating from the renowned Persian region. Nadjafabad carpets are celebrated for their superior quality and adherence to classic Persian designs, and this example is no exception. Its artisanal craftsmanship is evident in every knot, with a density ranging between 160,000 and 200,000 knots per square meter, guaranteeing robustness and design precision.
The central field is dominated by a vibrant scarlet red, which immediately captures attention. At its heart, an elaborate polychrome medallion shines, surrounded by an all-over design of stylized floral motifs, such as palmettes, rosettes, and meandering vines. Every detail is meticulously executed, using complementary colors like cream, sky blue, soft green, and ocher, creating a harmonious contrast and visual depth.
The border, in a deep midnight blue, elegantly frames the field, showcasing "herati" or "gul-e farang" (European flower) motifs and meander patterns, which add further complexity and refinement. The presence of a slight abrash (color variation) testifies to the use of natural dyes and the authenticity of the hand-knotting process, giving the rug a unique and historical character.
Crafted with hand-carded wool for the pile and a cotton warp, this Nadjafabad offers a soft texture and exceptional durability. With a thickness of 1.2 cm, it is comfortable underfoot and resistant to wear. It is the ideal complement to enrich living rooms or studies, adding an atmosphere of luxury and Persian tradition.
