This magnificent Kashan rug, originating from Persia, is an authentic expression of traditional knotting art. Masterfully crafted from hand-carded wool on a cotton warp, it boasts a remarkable density of 160,000-200,000 knots/sqm and a thickness of 1.2 cm, attesting to its excellent quality and durability.
The design features an elegant, finely delineated central medallion in a star-like shape, standing out against an ivory field. Surrounding the medallion and extending across the entire field is a rich repertoire of floral motifs, including palmettes, vines, and arabesques, executed with shades of dark blue, light blue, beige, and touches of rust red. The delicate chromatic contrasts and subtle tonal variations, typical of naturally dyed wool (abrash), lend depth and unique character to the entire composition.
The rug is framed by a majestic beige border, also enriched with intricate floral decorations that echo and harmonize with the motifs of the central field. This classic structure and chromatic harmony make the Kashan a perfect work of art to add a touch of Persian sophistication and tradition to any setting, from classic to contemporary.
