This textile work of art is a magnificent Ardakan rug, hand-knotted in Persia, embodying the richness and tradition of Persian craftsmanship. Made with hand-carded wool on a cotton warp, it features a density of 160,000-200,000 knots/sqm and a thickness of 1 cm, attesting to the excellent quality of the workmanship and meticulous attention to detail.
The design is dominated by a large, elaborate central medallion with pendents extending into the field. This medallion is rich in stylized floral details and chromatic nuances ranging from dark blue to cream and light blue. The main field, in a vibrant red, is elegantly filled with a scrolling floral design, composed of palmettes, leaves, and blossoms, radiating harmoniously.
