This magnificent Ardakan rug, originating from Persia, is a splendid example of ancient Middle Eastern textile tradition. Crafted from hand-carded wool with a cotton warp, it boasts a high knot density, between 160,000 and 200,000 knots per square meter, testifying to its excellent craftsmanship and durability. The pile has a thickness of 1 cm, providing the rug with remarkable robustness and comfort.
The design features a majestic central medallion, elaborate and rich in floral details, dominating the intense red field. Vegetable motifs and delicate stylized flowers extend harmoniously in an all-over design around the medallion, creating a lush and sophisticated atmosphere. The border, also finely decorated with a series of cartouches and repeated floral motifs, beautifully frames the rug, accentuating its elegance. The skillful use of colors, with deep blue contrasting the scarlet red and touches of cream and light blue, further enriches the pattern. A slight abrash effect can be observed, adding character and authenticity, typical of natural wool dyeing.
An Ardakan rug is more than just a furnishing item; it is a cultural investment, capable of transforming any environment into a space of refined beauty and warmth.
