This magnificent example of a Gorawan rug, originating from Persia, is a textile work of art that embodies the rich tradition of Persian knotting. Crafted from hand-carded wool with a cotton warp, it boasts a density of 160,000-200,000 knots/sqm and a thickness of 1 cm, testifying to its robustness and artisanal quality.
The rug is dominated by an imposing central medallion, whose geometric shapes and stylized motifs recall the complexity of traditional designs. The color palette is vibrant and deep, with a scarlet red harmoniously blending with dark blue and shades of cream and ochre, creating a captivating visual contrast. The natural abrash present in the field adds further character and authenticity, revealing the handmade nature of the dyeing and weaving.
The borders are elaborate and elegantly frame the central field, further enriching the overall design. Perfect for adding a touch of sophistication and warmth to any room, this Gorawan is more than just a furnishing accessory: it is a piece of Persian history and culture.
