This magnificent Sarough rug, originating from Persia, is a splendid example of traditional knotting art. Its refined aesthetic makes it an ideal piece to enrich any environment with a touch of elegance and history.
The central field features a rich all-over design on a bright ivory background. Stylized floral motifs, including palmettes, rosettes, and intricate leaves, follow one another in a harmonious rhythm, creating a visual effect of great depth. The color palette is vibrant and well-balanced, with a predominance of scarlet red, cerulean blue, antique pink, and emerald green, which elegantly blend on the light background.
The rug is framed by a wide main border in ruby red, enclosing continuous floral motifs and cartouches. Thinner secondary borders, with small geometric and floral designs in shades of blue and beige, complete the perimeter, adding further complexity and refinement to the overall design. The use of hand-carded wool gives the pile a natural luster and exceptional resilience.
Made with hand-carded wool for the pile and a cotton warp, this Sarough boasts a density of 160,000-200,000 knots/sqm and a thickness of 1.2 cm, testifying to its excellent quality and durability. Every knot is a sign of the skill and passion of Persian artisans, making each rug a unique and timeless work of art.
