This magnificent Ardakan rug, originating from Persia, is a sublime expression of traditional textile art. Crafted with hand-carded wool, it features a cotton warp that ensures its strength and longevity.
Its density of approximately 160,000-200,000 knots per square meter and a thickness of about 1 cm attest to the high quality of its manufacture. The design is dominated by a large central medallion, richly decorated with intricate floral motifs, set on a main field of vibrant ruby red.
The corners of the main field feature spandrels that echo the colors and motifs of the medallion. The complex border is composed of a main dark blue band and several secondary borders, with light blue and beige details creating a harmonious contrast. All designs are based on stylized floral motifs, typical of Persian tradition, with delicate blooms and vines gracefully winding across the entire surface. Every detail is the result of careful artisanal craftsmanship, making each Ardakan rug a unique work of art rich in history.
