This magnificent Gorawan rug, originating from Persia, is a textile work of art that embodies the richness and tradition of Oriental knotting. Made with hand-carded wool, it features a cotton warp, ensuring strength and durability. Its remarkable density of 160,000-200,000 knots/sqm attests to the high quality and meticulous execution.
<The design is dominated by a large geometric central medallion, finely outlined, which stands out against a field primarily of terracotta red and burgundy. This medallion is enriched with complex stylized motifs and floral details, extending towards the corners of the rug, creating a harmonious effect. The entire composition is framed by a main border, rich in geometric and stylized elements, and by secondary borders that add depth to the design.
The predominant colors include various shades of red, cream or light beige, and a deep indigo or dark blue, with touches of yellow and light blue that enliven the overall look. The natural color variation, known as abrash, adds character and authenticity, highlighting the artisanal craftsmanship. A Gorawan rug is ideal for adding a touch of elegance and warmth to any setting, from the dining room to the living room, creating a welcoming and sophisticated atmosphere.
