This Gorawan rug, originating from Persia, is an authentic expression of traditional knotting art. Crafted with hand-carded wool on a cotton warp, it boasts a density of 160,000-200,000 knots/sqm and a thickness of 1 cm, testifying to its robustness and quality craftsmanship.
The design is dominated by a large and impressive geometric central medallion, richly decorated with stylized and hooked motifs, in shades of dark blue, black, and cream. This focal element stands out against a vibrant red field, dotted with geometric and stylized floral details that extend to the cream corners of the field. The skillful use of abrash, evident in the slight chromatic variations, adds depth and an authentic character, typical of rugs woven with natural dyes.
A rich series of borders frames the composition: the dark main border hosts repeated geometric motifs, perfectly balancing the exuberance of the central field. This Gorawan is not just a rug, but a work of art that carries the history and mastery of Persian weavers, capable of enriching any environment with its presence.
