Discover the ancient beauty of this magnificent Lori rug, an authentic expression of Persian nomadic art. Originating from Persia, it has been skillfully hand-knotted using hand-carded wool, with a cotton warp, ensuring durability and a unique tactile feel. Its density of 160,000-200,000 knots/sqm and thickness of 1.2 cm attest to the high quality of its craftsmanship.
The rug features a central design dominated by three large, diamond-shaped medallions, finely bordered and rich in internal geometric details. These main elements are framed by a deep black field, adorned with a myriad of smaller geometric motifs, starlets, and stylized hooks, evoking ancient symbols and tribal stories. Ruby red is the predominant hue, enriched by deep shades of black and accents of cream and light brown, creating a vibrant contrast and chromatic harmony typical of Lori artifacts. The inevitable abrash, subtle color variations due to the natural dyeing of the wool, adds character and authenticity, making each piece a unique work of art.
The main border stands out with a succession of stylized figures, resembling birds or animals, set against a bright cream background—a distinctive motif that testifies to the origin and tradition of this specific ethnic group. Thinner frames, with sawtooth and dot patterns, complete the design. This rectangular rug is not just a furnishing element, but a piece of history and culture, capable of imbuing any room, from the living room to the dining room or study, with a warm and inviting atmosphere.
