This magnificent Nimbaft rug, originating from Persia, is a splendid example of traditional craftsmanship. Handcrafted with hand-carded wool on a cotton warp, it features a high knot density ranging from 160,000 to 200,000 knots/sqm and a thickness of 0.9 cm. Its meticulous workmanship and the quality of its materials ensure durability and lasting beauty.
The Nimbaft design is characterized by a field divided into geometric squares, each enclosing detailed and symmetrical motifs. This arrangement creates a dynamic and captivating visual effect, typical of the region's textile traditions. The colors, with a predominant aquamarine turquoise for the central field and a deep ruby red for the border and details, are enriched by touches of yellow, blue, and green, creating a vibrant chromatic harmony. The variations in shade, known as abrash, are indicative of the natural dyeing process of the wool and add depth and authenticity to the rug.
The border is elegantly decorated with stylized motifs and echoes the geometric designs of the field, perfectly framing the entire composition. A Nimbaft rug like this is not merely a decorative item, but a piece of Persian history and culture, capable of adding warmth and elegance to any setting, from classic to modern.
