This authentic Kaschkuli rug, originating from the traditional weaving traditions of Persia, embodies the richness and depth of nomadic art. With a name that evokes the Qashqai tribes, once shepherds and weavers, each knot tells a millennial story.
The heart of the rug is dominated by an intense navy blue central medallion, richly decorated with stylized motifs and floral details, standing out against a vibrant terracotta field. This warm red-orange, achieved through natural dyes, gives the piece a welcoming and earthy atmosphere. In the four corners, navy blue sections with small geometric motifs balance the composition.
The design features an all-over pattern, enriched with elegant boteh (or paisley) motifs and scattered stylized flowers, lending dynamism and visual harmony. The skillful use of color and detail is also evident in the main border, which displays a succession of cartouches and rosettes in shades of cream, light blue, and green, gracefully defining the central field.
Crafted from hand-carded wool (cotton warp), this rug boasts a density of 160,000-200,000 knots/sqm, testifying to its artisanal mastery. The thickness of 1 cm enhances its durability. The occasional presence of abrash, slight variations in shade, is a distinctive mark of authenticity and natural dyeing.
A work of art that transforms any environment, from classic to contemporary, adding character and warmth. Perfect for a living room, a study, or as a central piece in a dining room.
