This magnificent Bidjar runner, originating from the renowned Persian region, embodies the legendary robustness and artisanal mastery of rugs from this area. Characterized by an exceptional density of between 400,000 and 450,000 knots/sqm, and a pile height of 1.4 cm, it offers unparalleled durability and a tactile feel. Crafted from high-quality hand-carded wool on a cotton warp, it features a compact weave that makes it extremely resistant to daily wear and tear.
The design of this runner is a classic example of the Bidjar style. The main field is dominated by three large, elongated hexagonal geometric medallions, arranged sequentially along the central axis. These medallions feature an ivory background on which intricate floral and geometric motifs, typical of Persian tradition, stand out. The rest of the field is enriched by an all-over design composed of stylized rosettes and intertwining vegetal scrolls that flow harmoniously. The well-defined borders elegantly enclose the entire piece, showcasing smaller coordinated motifs. The predominant colors are the salmon red of the field, the light ivory of the medallions, and the dark shades of brown and deep blue used for outlines and details, with accents of green and blue adding depth. The presence of a slight abrash attests to its artisanal nature and the use of natural dyes, lending each piece a fascinating uniqueness.
