The Bidjar runner, originating from Persia, is a textile masterpiece that combines aesthetic beauty with exceptional robustness. Known as "the iron rug" for its incredible durability, every Bidjar is an investment in history and quality, capable of withstanding time and wear.
Crafted from high-quality hand-carded wool, knotted on a cotton warp, this runner features a high density of 400,000-450,000 knots/sqm and a thickness of 1.4 cm. This combination gives the rug a compact structure and unparalleled resistance, making it ideal even for high-traffic areas.
The design is characterized by three large, cascading polygonal medallions, richly decorated with stylized floral motifs, set on an all-over field that echoes and varies the decorative themes of the internal medallions. Multilayered borders frame the central field harmoniously, adding depth and complexity to the overall design. The dominant colors are terracotta red, dark blue, and cream, with accents of brown and ochre enriching the palette. The use of traditional dyeing techniques may result in slight abrash, a natural color variation that is a distinctive mark of the rug's authenticity and artisanal production.
Perfect for hallways, entryways, or as a distinctive element in any room, this Bidjar runner brings with it the charm and depth of Persian tradition. Every detail speaks to the mastery of the artisans, bringing warmth and sophistication to the environment. A Bidjar is not just a rug, but a piece of history that enriches decor with its imposing presence and unparalleled quality.
