This magnificent Bidjar rug, originating from Persia, is a textile artwork that embodies the typical robustness and elegance of this production area. With an exceptional density of 400,000-450,000 knots per square meter and a thickness of 1.4 cm, it is crafted from high-quality hand-carded wool on a cotton warp, ensuring durability and a sumptuous feel underfoot.
The design features a large geometric diamond-shaped medallion that dominates the main field, which is also densely decorated with an intricate motif of small rosettes and stylized leaves, a classic all-over design. The corners, or spandrels, outside this diamond shape feature an ivory background that creates a pleasant contrast with the intense red of the central field, and are also embellished with stylized floral motifs.
The main border, on an ivory background, is finely decorated with a sequence of palmettes and interconnected floral elements, flanked by several secondary bands with minor motifs, all framed by a dark outer edge. The chromatic palette is rich and vibrant, dominated by ruby red and burgundy tones, combined with refined ivory, navy blue, light blue, olive green, and beige, which contribute to creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.
This Bidjar is not just a piece of furnishing, but a slice of Persian history and tradition, ideal for those seeking a rug with a strong visual impact and high resistance, capable of enhancing any environment with its timeless beauty. The presence of slight color variations, known as "abrash", testifies to the authenticity and artisanal craftsmanship of the naturally dyed wool.
